Itinerary for 4* Hotel - 2027

Day 1 - Tuesday 24 August 2027
Check into hotel - Tour briefing and culinary evening
Make your own way to Valencia and check into your hotel. A taxi from Valencia Airport costs approximately EUR25, while a taxi from the central train station is around EUR5. Alternatively, the hotel is approximately a 20-minute walk from the station.

At 8pm, meet your PP Travel Rep at the hotel reception for your Welcome Briefing. You will receive a full rundown on what to expect at La Tomatina, how to get the very most out of this amazing event, and everything you need to know before heading into the heart of the action the following day.

Tuesday Evening Culinary Experience - Valencia is famous for its food, and tonight is the perfect opportunity to head out and experience the fantastic local bars, cafes and restaurants surrounding our hotel. From inexpensive local Valencian favourites to familiar international options and more upmarket restaurants, our PP Travel crew will provide recommendations to suit every taste and budget. Enjoy a great meal, a few drinks and good company before getting ready for the huge day ahead!

Day 2 - Wednesday 25 August 2027
The Big Day - La Tomatina
After an early breakfast, we transfer by coach to Bunol, with the journey taking approximately one hour. The excitement builds as we make our way towards the world's craziest food fight!

We won't simply drop you at the remote coach park and leave you to fend for yourself. Our experienced PP Travel crew will guide those who wish to join them directly into the heart of the famous "Tomato Street" and the full-on action!

La Tomatina officially begins at around midday, following the desperate attempts of human ladders to reach the large ham positioned at the top of the famous greased pole in the centre of town.

Then the madness really begins! Several huge dump trucks loaded with tomatoes make their way through Bunol's narrow main street, unloading tonnes of ripe tomatoes as thousands of locals and travellers from around the world cover each other in red.

For approximately one hour, Bunol becomes the scene of the world's biggest and craziest food fight! A gun blast signals the end of the battle, after which everyone heads off in search of a welcome shower, cold drink and the continuing fiesta atmosphere.

We depart Bunol in the mid-afternoon and return to our hotels in Valencia for a much-needed wash, rest and recovery!

Tonight is a free evening and a perfect opportunity to explore Valencia's fabulous Old Town, enjoy a great meal and perhaps a few well-earned drinks.

We also include FREE admission to the Official La Tomatina After Party, held in Valencia and attended by more than 3,000 people. If you are ready for another big night after the tomato fight, this is the place to be! You will need to make your own way from the hotel to the venue.

Day 3 - Thursday 26 August 2027
Departure Day
Our La Tomatina adventure comes to an end after breakfast this morning.

If you would like to stay in Valencia for a little longer, extra nights may be available. These must be booked through PP Travel before the tour begins to ensure accommodation is available.

Please Note

The walk between the coach park and the tomato fight area is approximately 1.5km. It is predominantly downhill on the way into Bunol, but naturally uphill on the return journey. There are no transfer facilities between the coach park and the tomato fight area.

For La Tomatina, women are recommended to wear a tight-fitting sports bra and/or singlet with shorts, together with secure footwear such as trainers/runners or sandals. Men generally wear old, inexpensive shorts, a T-shirt and shoes. We strongly recommend taking a complete change of clothes to Bunol and wearing clothes to the tomato fight that you are prepared to throw away afterwards.

The Official After Party is held in a licensed venue and entry is restricted to people aged 18 years and over due to Spanish licensing laws. Unfortunately, passengers under the age of 18 will not be permitted entry.

The Bunol City Council, which organises La Tomatina, currently does not impose a minimum age for participation in the tomato fight. However, please be aware that La Tomatina is a full-on and extremely energetic event. People can get carried away and tomatoes are thrown randomly in all directions. Wherever you position yourself, the action can become very intense, so participants should be prepared for a wild and occasionally chaotic experience!
