Oktoberfest Dates
The 2024 Oktoberfest begins with the mayor of Munich tapping the first keg at noon on Saturday, 21st of September 2024. The festival finishes on Sunday, 6th of October 2024.

When Can We Stay?
You can arrive any day from Thursday, 19th of September 2024. The last night of accommodation is Monday, 7th of October departing Tuesday, 8th of October 2024. Note that we have a 2 night minimum stay.

Accommodation Options and Prices
We offer a choice of standard pre-erected tents (twin share or single) or dorm accommodation at Campingplatz Thalkirchen. Note that the minimum stay is 2 nights.

Standard Twin Share or Single Tent
Your pre-erected tent ready for you when you arrive at Thalkirchen. The budget camping options are small two people tents. Twin share tents are £40 per person per night and single occupancy is £60 per person per night. Breakfast is included. You will need to bring your own sleeping bags/air mattresses.
* Special: Book 4 nights in a standard tent (twin share or single) and you only pay for 3 nights.

Dorm Room Accommodation
We have very limited dorm accommodation at Campingplatz Thalkirchen that is exclusive to PP Travel. 4 bed and 10 bed dorm rooms available every day of the Oktoberfest. Bottom sheet and light sleeping bag is supplied. Rooms do not have ensuite. There are day pack sized lockers available, but you will need your own lock. Breakfast is supplied.

Campingplatz Thalkirchen Location and Facilities
Campingplatz Thalkirchen is the Munich's main permanent campground and the closest budget accommodation to the Oktoberfest. It really is the place to be during the fest. The campground is in a great location on the Isar River and surrounded by parklands. There are a number of beergardens and restaurants within a short walk from the campground. There is a good number of large toilet/shower blocks, a small supermarket and shop, bar (steins before and after Oktoberfest) and take-away hot food. Whilst a token (~€2.10) is needed for hot water in the showers the hot water at the campground never runs out.

Getting to the Oktoberfest
Our Thalkirchen campground base is ideally situated just 5km from the Oktoberfest. From the local Thalkirchen U-Bahn station it is only 3 (Poccistrasse U-Bahn) or 4 (Goetheplatz U-Bahn) stops to the Oktoberfest. For the price there is no closer to the Oktoberfest than staying at our Thalkirchen campground base.

Breakfasts
We provide a continental breakfast each morning with tea, coffee, variety of cereals and fresh fruit. Our breakfasts and tents are supplied by friends at Oktoberfest on a Budget at the camping ground.

How to Book
You can book online with just a £50 deposit with the balance of payment due by the 16th of August 2024. Bookings after the 16th of August 2024 require full payment at the time of booking.
