How Big Will the St Patricks Day Crowd in Dublin be at the 2009 Parade
Everybody loves the Irish and everybody loves St Patrick's Day and it's celebrations and the St Patrick's Day 2009 parade and celebrations in Dublin looks like being the biggest and best yet.
In 2008 more than 670,000 revellers lined the streets of the parade route in Dublin to celebrate the National holiday of St Patrick's Day on the 17th March. To put this number of people into perspective it is interesting to note that the population of the Greater Dublin area at the last census in 2006 was 1,661,185. The crowd was left sated for all things Irish for yet another year with a grand and dizzying display of pageantry, artistry and music. There were more than 3,000 performers in the 2008 parade and 2009 promises to bring over 4,000 performers.
